THERAPY APPROACH

Strong Relationships

I believe that great therapy is the result of a strong relationship combined with the ability to provide effective and compassionate treatment.

Each person seeking therapy deserves to find a therapist they connect with and trust. My goal is that every client will leave therapy with the ability to manage the concerns that brought them in initially. I primarily provide individual counseling for children and adults struggling with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and anxiety disorders (OCD, panic, phobias, etc.).

When bad things happen to people, most of us walk away with two pieces: the memory of what happened and an interpretation of the events. Both aspects can be incredibly painful in different ways. The challenges I’ve seen clients run into are that very few people in their lives want to or can handle hearing about the trauma, they often don’t have the opportunity to talk about what occurred, and that approaching painful memories can feel next to impossible on their own. Therapy can provide an opportunity to discuss these thoughts, feelings, and memories at your own pace with the help of someone who is trained to process them with you.

Evidence-Based Practices

I am trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Additionally, I provide exposure-based therapies to treat anxiety disorders. I appreciate the structure and framework of evidence-based practices while incorporating the needs of each individual client to achieve their goals of therapy.

Inclusive Growth

I am constantly learning and understanding more from my clients and welcome individuals of all gender expressions, sexual orientations, races, ethnicities, abilities, religions, sizes, and family structures.
